Hoo Are you #40

Hello all and welcome to this week's Hoo Are You? by Night Owl Crafting

Here are this week's questions!
1. Do you plant a garden or flowers, or neither?
Usually neither, though I would love to try a small little flowerbed this spring
2. Does it bother you to have your blinds or curtains open after dark so people can see in your house?
3. Do you like to go camping?
I do like camping but only for a day or two at a time. One of my greatest memories of when I was a kid, was going camping with the whole family.
4. Do you have a laptop or a desk top computer?
A desktop
5. What time during the day do you have your most energy?
Usually around mid-morning or so
If you would like to join the Hoo Are You party and link up your answers check it out here

The freedom of the open road!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of NMEDA for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I would like to talk with you about a program that does hit a little close to home and something that would have been very helpful to a close family member of mine had they been established just a few years earlier than they were.

NMEDA is an Association of Mobility Dealers, Manufacturers and Rehabilitation Professionals that advocates providing safe, reliable vehicles and modifications to enhance accessibility for all people.

NMEDA doesn't sell anything!! NMEDA has independent dealers that sell handicap vans and vehicle modifications for disabled people.

NMEDA has Dealers AND Quality Assurance Program (QAP) dealers.

*The Quality Assurance Program (QAP) is the only nationally recognized accreditation program for the Adaptive Mobility Equipment Industry.*

Because we all know that no two people with a disability are exactly the same, companies must have a systematic and documented approach to quality in order to satisfy customers consistently. Each person has different needs and struggles.

Being a caregiver for an elderly or handicapped person can be extremely tough, NMEDA can help to alleviate some of the pressures of being a caregiver by allowing the elderly or disabled to get back on the road to independence. Through your NMEDA dealer, you will get a personalized “in-person” evaluation in which you can be sure you are getting the right driving solution customized to your specific lifestyle and needs.

I've checked out the NMEDA website and found that I have 2 authorized dealers within 50 miles of me! I would encourage everyone to do the same. Simply go to the NMEDA homepage and enter your zipcode then let me know in a comment if you have a dealer close to you. You never know when you might be in need of these invaluable services.

Highs and Lows this week.

So I'm going to try to start doing this weekly link party that Jen over at Life, Crafts, and Whatever has just started. It seems pretty interesting, so if you're interested go get the details there!

  • I got a new job!!! And so far it seems pretty cool.
  • I also found out I will have Tuesday off, which means I will be able to go on my son's field trip with him. But stay tuned to next week, as that will be my first day off after 7 days working and it will be spent at the zoo with a bunch of 1st graders, this may be on the low list next week.. ;)
  • Mr. K's 9 month check up went great!
  • I finished up the giftset I made for a donation in the Project Kids Raffle

  • Because of above mentioned new job, I've had/have to wake up at 4:30 am... WTF?? I'm barely able get up at 6:30 to get the kids off to school as it is. Then next week my schedule changes and I will be working the 3rd shift. 10 pm to 6:30 am.
  • I started orientation on Monday and I don't have a day off til Tuesday.
  • Also because of new job, I've gotten in no crafting time and my planned re-do of my utility/laundry/storage/catch-all room into my crafting/sewing area has been put on hold.
So that's it for this week, yes I know most of it is job related, but well hey, that has been pretty much all I've done this week.

I hope to have something a little more interesting next week.

Project Kids: RAFFLE UNDERWAY! Complete prize list and details!...

I am reposting this directly from the Project Kids blog. To purchase tickets, please do so from there, NOT here on this post.

Project Kids is currently selling raffle tickets to raise money for a group of nine underprivileged children in Springdale, AR.  All raffle prizes were donated, so every dollar raised goes directly towards the children.  One example of how we plan to help them is by providing meals for them for the remainder of their school year.  Although they qualify for free or reduced lunch, most of them have not had an adult willing or able to fill out the paperwork to receive this.  We also plan to purchase educational and fun materials for the children to have over the summer, as their home situations do not provide these resources.  Please help us help these kids!  And, to sweeten the deal, you can win some wonderful prizes!  We have plenty to give away, now we just need people to join in!

Thank you,

Team Project Kids

For each raffle ticket purchased, you can choose which prize to put the ticket towards.  You can put all of your tickets towards one prize or spread them out however you choose.  Good luck and thank you!

Raffle Tickets are only $1 but the more you buy, the more bonus tickets you get!

1 ticket = $1
6 tickets = $5
12 tickets = $10
35 tickets = $25

Babies gotta eat too!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of PBM Products for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

As a mother of an infant I know all too well about the need to make sure my little one is getting all he needs from his formula. Don't get me wrong I am a huge advocate of breastfeeding, but I know that isn't always an option for everyone. In my case I was only successful at breastfeeding with 1 of my 3 babies.

For those of us who have to rely on formula to provide the nutrition their baby needs, we want to make sure our baby is getting the same nutrients and vitamins as they would with breastmilk.

If you are a busy mom like myself, you don't always have the time to go to the grocery store, so I think it is awesome that Diapers.com carries formula. They carry Bright Beginnings brand formula which is a great alternative to some of the highly priced national brands. If you love saving money and don't like having to get out to the store just for a can of formula, you can now just buy on diapers.com

Bright Beginnings brand is comparable to the major brand name formulas in everything except the price. Bright Beginnings also have Organic formula! I know how important having organic is to some.

Premium nutrition, without the premium price! With a new baby at home, we all know how expensive it can be.
Trust me, I just spent $21 on a 23 oz. can today, and while browsing around I notice the equivalent of the brand I bought in the Bright Beginnings brand is only $14.39!! Wow! Add that up over the course of a month or two and that would be some major savings!

There are also few other offers I've seen that I'd like to point out. They have free shipping on formula on orders over $49 and free returns. For first time customers there are 2 great coupon codes; 1 is 20% off diapers for 3 months, the other is for 10% off everything else!

For those who like to stay connected, you can "like" Bright Beginnings on Facebook! If you want to know more about the brand, just ask away!

Project Kids

Hello everyone!
I'd like to talk to you all about something I'm participating in. It is Project Kids, you might have noticed the button right over there ------->

Here's a little info about Project Kids that I took directly from the site:
Project Kids was founded  in 2011 by three women in Northwest Arkansas who wanted to make a difference.  The goal of Project Kids is to raise money for specific causes, one project at a time.  All projects directly involve children.  We first saw a strong need in a small group of local middle school students who were facing hurdles due to language and financial barriers.

I'm all for helping others, especially children. I can't always help financially though, so I have donated an item for the Project One raffle.

A baby giftset that includes a changing pad roll-up, a crinkly taggie blanket and a bib.

I'm also offering 2 months of ad space here, a 175x175 button in the upper right sidebar.

The Project One raffle runs from April 16 - 26 and has several great prizes. I encourage anyone who can to donate if they can.

Here are some of the prizes you could win:
$50 PF Chang's gift card
Other various restaurant gift cards
Date night package
Family fun night package
Dog gift set
Mod Podge product package from Plaid Enterprises
Hobby Lobby gift card
Hand sewn baby gift set
Hand Illustrated posters from the Blog Guidebook
Ad space on various websites and blogs
Vinyl wall art
Handmade gift from various Etsy shops

Here is the scoop on how to enter:

For each dollar you donate, you get one virtual raffle ticket.  Each prize has its own entry pool.  So, you put each ticket into the drawing for the item you want to win.  In other words, you will only be entered to win the prizes that you want!  You can put all of your tickets towards one prize, or spread them out.

You can donate directly on the Project Kids site here
So think about it, for $1 you could win anyone of those items above! How great is that?
So go on and check it out! You could be helping out a great cause and you have the chance to win some fab prizes!

And as always Have a great day everyone!

Target coupon book winners!

Ready for the winners of the $25 Target coupon book?
Well I know in the giveaway post I said I would use Random.org to pick a winner. But since there were only 6 entries with 3 different readers, I decided each of the 3 ladies would get one book. I think that is fair.

So the winners are...

Chrissy, Ashley, and Kayla!!
Congrats ladies! I will email you for your info!

I hope to have more giveaways as my blog grows and the next one will be an actual item I promise!!

Have a great day everyone!

Bad for me, good for you.. A giveaway of sorts..

So a few weeks ago I went online to Target and filled out for a free sample bag. A couple days ago I got it in the mail and it had some great stuff in it, let me tell ya!

This little makeup bag is cute and just the right size to hold my necessities when I can't take my jumbo makeup case with me somewhere!

Look at those goodies!
Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Hot Pink
Nivea Express Hydration daily lotion
Pantene Color Preserve Shine shampoo
Fekkai Shea Butter shampoo and conditioner
Neutrogena Naturals lip balm - love this!
And a coupon book with over $25 in savings! Woot Woot!

and now I bet you're wondering about the post title huh?
As nice as the coupon book is and I want to use it... The closest Target to me is about an hour away, and I'm not gonna drive an hour to save a few bucks when I can got to Wal-Mart or the Dollar store minutes away..
As for the giveaway (of sorts), I hate saying a giveaway and getting yall's hopes up for something fantastic when I don't really have an actual item for you, but I will send one lovely reader this coupon book!
I'm sure out of my 57 readers at least one of you lives closer to a Target and can use this!

Here are just a few of the coupons inside

$3 off a Nivea body care item

$1 off Aveeno body care item

$5 off John Frieda hair color

$1 off Olay facial care item
And quite a few other great coupons!! And they don't expire until 7/30/2011.

*UPDATE* There will now be 3 winners!! A lovely friend of mine, Starr, just donated 2 more coupon books, how awesome is she??

So who wants it?
All I ask is that you are a blog follower, I do want to reward my loyal readers, even if it is just something small to start out. And hey I'm not above bribing for new readers.. ;) Since this is more about beauty then crafting, just leave me a comment telling me what your must have skin or beauty product is!

And just because everyone likes extras entries:
"Like" Killing Time on Facebook and let me know - 1
"Follow" me on Twitter and let me know - 1
That's 3 possible entries folks!!

I'm not gonna leave this open for long, I will pick a winner on Sunday 4/10 with Random.org and post it Sunday evening.
I will email the winner, so make sure you have email enabled in your profile or leave an email in your comment, ok?

*Just in case anyone is wondering, NO I was not compensated for this at all. I ordered the free sample bag, and since I won't use the coupon book I decided to share it with someone who could*

Have a great week everyone!!
