A little preview..

Wow, I haven't posted anything in a little bit. All this Thanksgiving traveling and eating just wore me out..

Anyways I've been doing a little bit of something, but I can't go into much detail about it, a certain someone stalks  reads this so I can't talk to much about it yet... I will come back Wednesday with the full reveal though!
Here's a little something for you now...

Stay tuned!!

Pretty felt flowers

Okay well first off I know in my last post I mentioned a tutorial I was trying to put together. Well about that... I'm still working on it.. Actually I'm just kinda lazy when it comes to that sorta thing.. I know how to do it, but I'm just not a good teacher, so actually sitting down and giving instructions on how to do something is just not my thing.. But I said I will do it so I will..
Anyways on to what this is about...

I made some pretties!!!
So I started off with 5 large and 5 small felt circles. I didn't go by any measurements I just traced the bottom of a can for the big one and a bottle lid for the smaller one.

Dab a little hot glue on the smaller circle and place it on the edge of the larger one.

Then just to add a little extra to this one I ran a bead of my blue glitter glue around the smaller circle.
Now I forgot to take pics of the next step, but you squeeze the bottom of the circle in half, with smaller circle on the inside. Then take a threaded needle and go through it just at the bottom, continue this with all your circles and then go back through the first one to make it a loop. Pull it tight, you can adjust the "petals" later.

I sewed a white button in the center just to somewhat hide the pinched center area.

Now cut another felt circle for the backing. Adjust your petals how you like and glue your backing felt on.
For this one I added a little clip with some felt on it to hide the clip for the most part.

And Voila!! Lookie here...

Now this next one I wanted to make a little prettier...
For this one I used 6 circles pieces instead of five, I think it looks a little better but it can also be a pain in the rear if you are trying to add extras to it like I did...  For one, I am NOT a beader, I do not have infinite reserves of patience. This one nearly got chunked across the room a few times..
But in the end it turned out quite nice and I am happy with it...
As yet I don't know what I want this one to be. Maybe a headband or another hairclip or maybe just putting a pin in it for now so I can change it up depending on my mood...

Crinkly taggie blanket

Okay so browsing through a few blogs the other day I came across this tute...

Better Life Bags
You should check it out! There are tons of great tutorials and make sure you read Rebecca's About Me to learn what Better Life Bags is all about.

Anyways I thought her tag blanket was a fantastic idea as K loves the crinkly noises as well..
So here is my first one...

Now before I get a bunch of comments about how this isn't safe because some of the ribbons are looped and the fabric tags may fray, I want to let you all know that this one was just an experiment and thrown together with a few scraps I had on hand. I did this at around 1 am.. It was also my first time trying to make faux chenille - obviously my method needs a little tweaking as this did NOT turn out quite right...

But the main thing was just to see what K's reaction to it would be.. And so far he likes it! I've let him play with it a bit under close supervision..
But I have figured out what he likes most about it....

He likes it under his feet when he's in his Johnny jumper! Everytime he bounces he makes noise!!

Stay tuned, I am putting together my first tutorial and will try to post it tomorrow!!

A little bit of repurposing..

Okay so here goes with my first post that actually has some meat to it..

So my neighbor Jenny, awesome lady, I'm glad to finally have a cool neighbor, brought over a scrub top she had in a breast cancer awareness print and asked me if I could use it to make a bandana for her to hang on her rearview mirror.
Of course I said! I've made a few of those before since me and Big B like to ride motorcycles. Those are easy. Since she just wanted it to hang and didn't need a full size bandana, I said I could actually use the top to make a few things if she wanted me to.. So she brought over a pair of jeans and a couple tops of her daughters.
Mind you, I forgot to take pics during the process and of the beginning, sorry I will try to remember next time to take pics..

The top I started out with was similar to this one...

Here is what all I came up with...

The bandana-ish thing to hang on her rearview mirror.

A cute little headband..

An 2 pocket apron...

A little bit of jean embellishment...
Ruffles and a patch on the front.

A patch on the back.

Ruffles and a pocket on a black shirt...

A vest-type addition to a pink shirt..

And I have a few teeny tiny scraps left that I'm sure I will think of something to make with.. Maybe a cute little rosette pin like a few I've seen online..

Found a great tuorial from Sew Cute Shop here..

Hello everyone!

Welcome to my blog!
Yes I know there really not much going on here at the present time, BUT that will be changing, hopefully...
I am new to Blogland, crazy huh? Blogs have been around for so long and I am just now jumping on this train..

Anyways this is what I have planned for this little ole blog of mine..
1. I plan to focus primarily on crafting/sewing projects..
2. I will also feature my family..
3. Throw in a little bit of randomness that I may feel like talking about..

Thank you for checking me out and stay tuned!!
