It's Giveaway Time!!!

Soooo.. If anyone remembers a few days ago on my Facebook page I mentioned an awesome giveaway I had lined up, well here it is!!!!!

So first off, who here loves to scrapbook? Let me just say, I'm not a huge scrapbooker, I like the idea of it, I like the memories it captures, but I've just never really gotten into it.
Until now that is!
I have found a digital scrapbooking software that makes it so easy that even I can do it!! Introducing My Memories Suite software.

My Memories Suite is rated #1 by Amazon and TopTen Reviews. Using this scrapbook software, anyone can create digital scrapbooks, photobooks, cards, calendars and gifts without having to buy expensive and complicated software programs.

Now like I said, I'm not a big scrapbooker and I have never used scrapbook software before, but here are a few pages I whipped up really quickly using My Memories Suite software.

This is using Vintage Diamonds paper on My Memories website

And this is adding in a few of the embellishments that come with the scrapbook software
This was using the Happy Go Lucky Papers free kit
Using the Calendar grid kit
Literally this software is so easy to use!! Those only took a minute or two each. And the software is so easy to navigate!! I think I may have just found a new obsession hobby!

So on to the big news. My Memories gave me the My Memories Suite digital software to try and they are giving one lucky reader one also!!! How awesome is that??

So do you want to win this??
Oh yes you do..
Here's how:

Mandatory entry
1. You must be a Killing Time blog follower, go to My Memories website and have a look around, come back and tell me what your favorite kit is.

Oh you want extra entries you say? Well here ya go!

Hello? Anyone still here?

So is anyone still here? I know I have been slacking alot on my lil ol blog here. Many things play a part in that: working full-time with a jacked up schedule, computer problems, exhaustion, kids, family, life and etc etc etc...

But anyways I figured I could post a few pics of some things I've managed to work on. Not a whole lot going on craft-wise, but now and then I find a few minutes to do something..

My most recently finished project and something I am so proud of is this carseat recover for a friend. I think it turned out beautifully and I even surprised myself with it!

I now need to get to work on a matching diaper bag, hopefully that won't take me as long as this carseat did!

If you are still a loyal reader, Thank you! for sticking around and I promise I will try to make a more frequent appearance here!

I will be sharing this on some of the linky parties I like

Cascade reader reviews and giveaway winner!

Well sorry this has taken so long, I have been waiting for a few reviews but sadly haven't gotten them all back yet. So I decided to go ahead and post the reviews from the Cascade 24 hour Challenge I got and have the giftcard giveaway with those that did participate. Read on, these are some great reviews!

Here are the reviews!
Patrice from Not About Cake wrote:

"Here is how my Cascade Challenge went:

I left my bowls and spatulas that had been used with cake batter on the counter for more than 24 hours.  I also left the frosting bowls.  I put everything in the dishwasher along with some other things and everything came out spotless!

I was pretty impressed, but decided to give it one more test.  Everything we used on Friday night and Saturday morning was put in the dishwasher without rinsing…the dishes were DIRTY!  I overloaded the dishwasher, too.  Sunday afternoon I finally turned on the dishwasher.  When I unloaded it, I had one soup ladle that had a bit of couscous still on it and two bowls that needed to be rewashed, but if you had seen how I had stacked the dishes in there then you would agree that the results were impressive.

I also liked the ease of popping the Actionpac in the detergent compartment.  I always buy the huge box of Cascade at Costco and I usually end up dumping way too much in and then have to wipe around the detergent compartment to get the lid to stay shut.

I don’t know if it was the detergent, since I have never ran a load of dishes without rinsing, but the ease of use alone convinced me that the extra cost (over the powder) is more than worth it.  This test also convinced my husband that he does not need to wash the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher!

A container of 85 is on sale for $3.00 off at Costco through June 5th so I plan on picking some up."

Kiley wrote:
"I did the Cascade challenge Friday. I decided to make Chicken supreme which is a family favorite, just not a favorite to clean up. It usually takes me atleast 2 if not 3 cycles through the dishwasher to clean my pan after this so I thought it would be a good thing to try. I wanted to really put it to the test. After we ate dinner Friday I placed the pan in my pantry and let it sit overnight. Saturday afternoon I put it in the dishwasher along with some other items, put the cascade Actionpac in the dispenser and turned it on. Later on I emptied the dishwasher and to my surprise the pan was pretty well clean. There were 2 little spots that I just used a dish cloth to wipe clean but aside from that it was great. I was kind of excited! I am going to try it a time or two before I go all out and say this stuff is awesome but from this experience I think it pretty much does as it says."

Here are a few pics from Kiley's experience.

From that to this, what a difference!

Emily from Insanity Rules says:

"I thought this product was great. Although it didn't completely get everything off the bowl it's done better by far then any other product I've used. I make this bread recipe like once a week and if I don't soak the bowl it takes forever to get the gunk off. Like I have to soak it for a night at least. So I was really happy that I just need to scrub a little bit of stuff out of it and then it's clean all the way. I would use it and recommend it to others."
Here are a few pics from Emily

Before and after

So now for the giveaway!

What I did was number these in the order I received them, so Patrice - 1, Kiley - 2, and Emily - 3.

And the winner of the $15 Walmart giftcard is....

#1 - Patrice!!! Congrats! I will email you shortly and have your giftcard in the mail!

Thank you to all who participated, I hope to continue to grow my blog and have more and greater giveaways in the future!

Teacher Appreciation Week - Subway Art

So better late than never, right?
I thought I would post about what T gave his teacher Mrs. Farriell for Teacher Appreciation Week. Usually I don't do gifts, I know bad right? It's not that I don't want to or that we don't appreciate our teachers, it's just that I usually forget or I just don't know what to give.

But as I was browsing around some of my favorite blogs earlier this week, I came across this post from Better Life Blog about creating your own Subway Art using Wordle. This site is so neat yall! You just type in the words you want and Voila! a Subway Art picture shows up, once in the picture you can change the font, colors and arrangement of your words!

I just did that one real quick to show you guys. Make sure you read the FAQ, it gives you tips on how to make some words bigger and how to have a string of words together. *I didn't read that before I made one for T's teacher so her name is on there as Mrs.Farriell without the space and all the words are the same size*
So anyways if you want a cool free Subway art maker or if you just want to kill some time on the internet, hop on over to Wordle and have some fun!

Anyways so here is what we did for Mrs. Farriell.

We tried to think of words that related to school and used mostly primary colors.

I painted the frame red and added just a touch of silver glaze to it.

On the back, I had T type up a note for her and then I used spray adhesive to glue it directly to the cardboard backing.
This project was completely FREE! I had everything on hand and it only took a few minutes, minus painting the frame. Now I know we could have fancied this up quite a bit more, but we opted to keep it pretty simple.

Supplies needed:
Paper
printer
frame
spray adhesive
paint - optional
glaze - optional

I hope you like it and I will be linking up to some of my favorite linky parties!

Have a great week everyone!

Hoo Are You??

It's time for another round of Hoo Are you? sponsored by Night Owl Crafting

NightOwlCrafting

Here are this week's questions!
They all relate to Mothers

1. Are you a mom and if so how many kids do you have?
Yes! I am a mom of 5. I have 3 boys of my own plus a stepson and stepdaughter. They range in age from 14 years to 10 months.
2. List 3 qualities that you love about your mom!
She is independent, she has always supported our decisions even if she didn't agree with them, and she loves unconditionally.
3. What is your favorite thing your mother cooks?
Oh man, can I only pick one thing? My mom is an amazing cook, an ability that apparently is NOT genetic, I would say my favorite is her cakes.
4. What do you love about being a mom?
The laughs, the pride, watching my kids learn new things and seeing their individual personalities come out.
5. What are your plans for Mother's day?
Probably not much, I have to work that evening so I'm hoping maybe the hubs will take me out to lunch if we can get away for a little bit just the 2 of us.

Stay tuned for next week's questions and if you would like to join the fun, check out Night Owl Crafting each Tuesday!
Have a great week everyone!!

Calling all readers!! I need your help! *giveaway*

1. Bake a blueberry cobbler* (or your favorite casserole) and enjoy!
2. Set the empty baking dish out for 24 hours.
3. Without rinsing, put it in the dishwasher with a Cascade Complete® All-in-1 ActionPac.
4. Tell me about your experience!

Can I just say I personally think it works great! I made a Tatertot Casserole the other night. Now usually after the dish is empty I always put it in the sink to soak for a bit before washing. Well as much as it killed me, I left it out for the full 24 hours. All the while thinking to myself what a pain in the rear it was going to be to clean if this stuff didn't work! Well everyone, it worked! Nothing left on my pan at all!

Here is a little info about Cascade Complete® All-in-1 ActionPacs™

The freedom of the open road!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of NMEDA for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I would like to talk with you about a program that does hit a little close to home and something that would have been very helpful to a close family member of mine had they been established just a few years earlier than they were.

NMEDA is an Association of Mobility Dealers, Manufacturers and Rehabilitation Professionals that advocates providing safe, reliable vehicles and modifications to enhance accessibility for all people.

NMEDA doesn't sell anything!! NMEDA has independent dealers that sell handicap vans and vehicle modifications for disabled people.

NMEDA has Dealers AND Quality Assurance Program (QAP) dealers.

*The Quality Assurance Program (QAP) is the only nationally recognized accreditation program for the Adaptive Mobility Equipment Industry.*

Because we all know that no two people with a disability are exactly the same, companies must have a systematic and documented approach to quality in order to satisfy customers consistently. Each person has different needs and struggles.

Being a caregiver for an elderly or handicapped person can be extremely tough, NMEDA can help to alleviate some of the pressures of being a caregiver by allowing the elderly or disabled to get back on the road to independence. Through your NMEDA dealer, you will get a personalized “in-person” evaluation in which you can be sure you are getting the right driving solution customized to your specific lifestyle and needs.

I've checked out the NMEDA website and found that I have 2 authorized dealers within 50 miles of me! I would encourage everyone to do the same. Simply go to the NMEDA homepage and enter your zipcode then let me know in a comment if you have a dealer close to you. You never know when you might be in need of these invaluable services.
